Besides being a mom, Sisi works for SAS, teaches Bootcamp class once a week and is currently studying about dyslexia to help her oldest son overcome this disorder. In all of this she finds time to train twice a day and is still one of Europe’s best Master athletes on scene. For me, true inspiration.
I met Sisi together with Simon at Gym/Spa Sturebadet in Stockholm where she regularly teaches Bootcamp classes.
Chat with Sisi:
1. Name, age, country, box?
Sisi Forsstedt, 43, Sweden, CrossFit Nordic.
2. How long have you been training, and also how long you been competing?
I started training Crossfit in 2010, and my first competition was in 2012.
3. Tell me briefly about your background in fitness before CrossFit?
When I was a child I competed in gymnastics, later as an adult, I competed in sports aerobics.
4. Your best results so far in competitions:
In 2014 I took 9th place in Open, Region Europe (Masters), 3rd Place in Raising the Bar 2014, 3rd Place Lanzarote Throwdown 2014 (team with Sandra Kolam) and 4th Place at The Athlete Games 2015. I really like to compete, and most of all, I like to travel and see other places. My funniest competition ever was the competition in Lanzarote!

5. Do you make a living out of Crossfit, i.e. do you teach at your local box, or anywhere else, or get sponsored to compete?
I have classes for children and “Mama Crossfit”, but I work fulltime, have two children, I am divorced and also study at the University.
6. What is your profession?
I work as a product manager for SAS Ground Handling, and I teach Bootcamp classes at Sturebadet in Stockholm.
7. Sisi’s PRs:
Deadlifts: 115 kg
Snatch: 47 kg
Power Clean: 67.5 kg
Pull Ups Max: 40
8. Favourite WOD?
All WODs with gymnastics skills included.
WOD that you hate the most?
All WODs with snatches.

9. Favourite female and male athlete in our community?
My favourite male athlete is Numí because he gives so much positive energy and gives a lot from himself. He is spontaneous, honest and gives a lot of good advices. And of course he’s a very good athlete!
My favourite female athlete I need to say are my Crossfit training partners Jenny (Jacobsen), Jessica (Clevenvik) , Sandra (Kolam) and Emelie (Arnstedt), because they are not only Crossfit friends, they are my real friends.
10. Five advices for people who wants to start competing:
- Find a box with good coaches.
- Learn from others and ask for help.
- Train together with somebody.
- Be focused and do what your program says, never put excuses.
- Work hard and be nice to people.
11. Ok, whats the secret? What do Nordic athletes have, that other people don’t?
It’s definitely the coaches. They are very good, and they have a great background in overall fitness.
12. What is your training schedule?
Because of my job, I don’t have a routine. There are weeks I can train twice a day, and than comes days I can’t. Being a mom I need to plan my daily routines well, but in all of that I still somehow manage to train twice a day when I can.

13. Do you follow a nutrition plan?
I do not, but I eat healthy, and try to be good with the choices. I allow myself a few cheating days now and then.
14. How do you see Crossfit progressing here in Europe, or indeed around the world?
I see CrossFit involving more and more, but with a bigger role in our everyday lives. Not so much a program for the few, but a sport that everybody will do.
My thoughts:
Places like CrossFit Nordic are a great reminder , that the size of the box does not mean anything. It’s a great box. Nordic is by far one of the smallest boxes I trained at, but it’s indeed one of the best when it comes to producing top athletes like Sisi and Simon. And their list is endless.
Untill my next post,
keep crossfitting
