The scores are not yet official (remember Natalie Newhart’s 15.2 performance didn’t meet the standards and was later penalized with a 15 % rep penalty), but for now it looks like Jacob Anderson and Kristin King set major milestones on 15.4 CrossFit Open workout.

Handstand push ups with a new standard

In 15.4 we saw new Open workout movement (never been used at this stage before) with a new standard: handstand push ups where heels needed to cross the marked line, based on your height and arm length, to get you a valid rep. Josh Bridges and Scott Panchik were the first two who experienced the new demands: Josh went strict in his first attempt, finishing with “only” 122 reps, but improved the score over the weekend for 45 points and finished 5th worldwide.

The 15.4 CrossFit Open workout was:
8-minute AMRAP:
3 handstand push-ups
3 cleans
6 handstand push-ups
3 cleans
9 handstand push-ups
3 cleans
12 handstand push-ups
6 cleans
15 handstand push-ups
6 cleans
18 handstand push-ups
6 cleans
21 handstand push-ups
9 cleans

For scaled version handstand push ups were replaced with push presses.

On the women’s side Kristin King from CrossFit Little Egypt, finished ahead of last year’s Crossfit Games 4th placed athlete Michele Letendre (167) and Sarabeth Phillips (166). Opposed to other athletes she made her video public.
