It is a “rapidly-made”, simple and healthy dessert. What you need is a few minutes of your time and a mug – which is of course safe to use in the microwave. And some appetite to eat it afterwards.

So, let’s do it!

Ingredients for 1 mug:

  • 1 scoop of chocolate whey (what you prefer; sweet choco, dark choco, caramel choco… Your mug cake will be more or less sweet, depends on the taste of your whey)
  • 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder,
  • sweetener (if you need it),
  • 1 tip (of the spoon) of baking powder,
  • 1 egg white,
  • 2 tablespoons of milk,
  • If you need more fats to balance your macros: 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
  • If you want: 1 tablespoon of greek yogurt (better homemade!) to decorate the cake.

How-To:

1. Mix all powdered ingredients (whey, cocoa, baking powder, sweetener) in your mug using a fork- Add the egg white and milk, and continue mixing them until you get an smooth, creamy mixture.

2. If you decided to use the peanut butter, add it and let it settle on the bottom of the mug.

3. Final step: bake it in the microwave. Baking time depends pretty much on the type of protein powder you’ve used. But in general it won’t take you more then 50-90 seconds.

4. Watch closely while your cake is being “baked” in the microwave as it rise pretty fast.

You should get a perfect mug cake with a tender core. To complete it, mix greek yogurt with some cocoa powder (or let it as it is. I prefer this way!) to add the cream on top of it.

Marcos:

139 cal – 4.6% F- 6.5% OH- 88.9% P
(they may vary, based on the ingredients you use)

With peanut butter: 226 cal – 18.2% F – 9.6 % OH – 72.3% P
