For the next few weeks I was doing a research, read pros and cons, and finally at the end of November 2014 started with it. I became a member of a gym Testakadémia Pécs and joined the beginners group.

So that’s when all started. But where actually? The answer is Pécs, Hungary. The gym has been open since May 2012. Currently it has over 150 active members. University students, younger adults, middle-aged members, older men and women, etc. Our community is mixed and diverse.
The team includes five qualified trainers, we have a nutrition bar and host regular seminars on mobility, stretching, technique, etc.
It began as a garage gym
After Gergely got a call from one of his friends with an idea of opening a gym in Pécs, he immediately “jumped” into the project to make it happen. As a result the training court was opened in May 2012.
It started as a garage gym with a few enthusiastic guys. Today the box works as a part of thefranchise called Testakadémia (BodyAcademy). Currently the main goal is to make it an official affiliate.
Professional training (currently named CrossTraining), helping athletes prepare for the local competitions and popularization of the sport are the main goals. The offer is much wider though. You can also try pilates, TRX, Cross-TRX trainings and Kettlebell. Kids can try WODJunior or even family WOD sessions.
New members need to start in the beginners group, learn the basics and technique, and gain some strength and stability. That’s how I started with some fellow members. We learned how to squat properly, how to do pull-ups, how to use the kettlebell and perform double-unders.
As someone who always did sports, Testakadémia Pécs gave me new goals and still drives me to work harder.
