These chocolates will definitely win him over! They are super easy to make and taste so good, you may have people queuing up for a date with you this Valentine’s day!
Ingredients:
Chocolate (the easy way)
1 bar 85% dark chocolate
1 Tbsp coconut oil
2 Tbsp maple syrup
Chocolate (a little harder)
1 cup raw cacao butter, melted
6 Tbsp raw cacao powder
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 Tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of Himalayan sea salt
Caramel Pecan centre
1 cup dates, soaked
1/3 cup pecans, crushed
1/3 cup almond milk
1 Tsp vanilla extract
Splash of water
How-To:
1. Melt the chocolate and coconut oil in a glass bowl on top of a small pan with an inch of water (make sure the water isn’t touching bowl) over a medium heat. When it’s ready, stir in the maple syrup. If you are making the chocolate from scratch, melt the cacao butter first and remove from the heat before mixing the rest of the ingredients in.
2. In a mould, pour just enough chocolate in to cover the bottom. Put in the freezer to set and make your caramel.
3. To make the caramel, add all of the ingredients except the pecans to a food processer. Mix for about 2 minutes or until it resembles a caramel consistency. Add in the pecans and mix again for a further 2 minutes.
4. Remove the moulds and using a spoon, add some of the caramel mixture to the centre and press down. Pour over the remaining chocolate, ensuring the caramel is completely covered. Place in the freezer again to set.
